Meet the founder

Claudia Pakes

Claudia is the founder and creative force behind Claudia Pakes Design Studio (CPDS), where she brings a fresh, thoughtful approach to interior design. For over ten years, she’s been helping clients create homes that feel both effortlessly elegant and deeply personal. Her designs strike that sweet spot between timeless and livable—always tailored to the people who live in them and the architecture that surrounds them.

Before interior design, Claudia spent more than two decades in the creative world designing events, products, and even celebration cakes. That hands-on, artistic background naturally evolved into a passion for interiors, which she formalized through degrees in interior design and art history at Santa Barbara City College.

Her global upbringing is at the heart of her work. Born in El Salvador, raised in Australia, and having lived in California before settling in Austin, Texas, Claudia draws on a rich mix of cultural influences. Her love for art, architecture, and antiques is fueled by frequent travels through Europe, Asia and the Middle East—always on the lookout for inspiration that tells a story.

Over the years, CPDS has worked on a wide range of projects—from full-home renovations to functional kitchen and bath remodels, and everything in between. While collaboration is always at the center of Claudia’s process, many long-time clients now trust her with complete creative direction, knowing the results will reflect their needs and exceed expectations. Behind the beauty, CPDS is grounded in the practical: honoring budgets, timelines, and the belief that great design should feel as good as it looks.
